Dr. Ron Shiver began practicing dentistry in 1980 in Valdosta, where he has since been in practice for more than 35 years. The doctor and his team are dedicated to maintaining and improving the dental health of all his patients.
Dr. Shiver is a graduate of Moultrie High School Class of 1972, Valdosta State College Class of 1976, and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry class of 1980. He has continued his education by graduating from the Medical College of Georgia’s Maxi Course in Implantology, where he obtained more than 360 hours of postgraduate studies in placing implants. Dr. Shiver is also a charter member of Advanced Dental Studies, which was establish in 2009 at the Atlanta Institute for Advanced Education.
Dr. Shiver is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Southwestern District Dental Society, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He regularly exceeds the amount of annual continuing education required by the Georgia State Board of Dentistry by more than four times the recommended amount. Dr. Shiver and his knowledgeable staff are committed to maintaining the most advanced and up-to-date methods for treating their patients.
Dr. Shiver has been married to his wife Brenda Shiver for nearly four decades. They have two children together, Bucky and Brooke Shiver.
Dr. Shiver loves the outdoors. He is an avid landscape and wildlife photographer and loves hiking and camping. One of his most memorable hikes was a rim-to-rim hike through the Grand Canyon in 2014.
